Walk around Kilpatrick muir this afternoon. Warm sunny, blue skys, lots of butterflies: small heath; green veined whites; orange tips, orange not identified. Red Kite flying above the moor, 1st I’ve seen here.

Blackthorn buds

The Blackthorn at the Kilpatrick muir id a little behind others I’ve seen recently from the road.
We did see out first tortoiseshell butterfly and quite a few bees today. A couple of larks singing on the muir too.

Primrose amongst dead vegetation, moss & ivy leaves
First Primrose. A few round a wee waterfall. Some wilted by frost.
Small waterfall, over mossy rocks, dead grass and bracken on the sides , a couple of primrose.

I am John Johnston A Primary Teacher in Scotland. I currently teach primary 4-5-6-7 in Banton Primary, the Banton Biggies. From 1993 until 17th October 2008 a class teacher at Sandaig Primary in Glasgow. In 20th October 2008 I joined North Lanarkshire Council as an Educational ICT Development Officer where I was until 2016. From January 2014 till December 2015 I was on secondment to the Scottish Government to work on Glow as Product Owner mostly on Glow Blogs. I am continuing the role on a part time basis.
