A nice walk round the Ardmore peninsula yesterday, quite windy, low clouds & dull. I’ve updated the script that makes the photo & map grids to show the gpx track as well as the picture positions, pleased with that.

Greenside again. Bright sun to start, a strong gusty wind, dulled down after half an hour. A small tortoiseshell sunning at the side of the track, flew away quickly so no picture. First butterfly of the year. A month earlier than last year. First coltsfoot out too. Ravens enjoying the wind.

Apart from the orchids yesterday there was a lot of flowering going on.
Greenside track this afternoon. The weather ranged from almost dry through smirr, drizzle, to quite heavy rain. Quite dull and dark, brightened by lots of wild flowers. Including 3 species of orchid. #blookstrolling #bloomscrolling
It looked like it was going to rain this afternoon, so we had a quick walk up to Jaw Reservoir. Plenty of small heath butterflies about. Lots of foxgloves and plenty of bird song. A whinchat in a dead larch near the water.
