A nice walk around Ardinning Wildlife reserve on Sunday morn, very quiet. Cuckoos, curlews & other singing & calling.
Images: Ardinning Loch, caterpillar, wood anemone, bluebells, dandelion & a green veined white.
Small White or Green Veined White? Seems it is hard to tell from this angle.
A colleague found this one at school today. Google Reverse image search gives me Poplar Hawk-moth.
Speckled Wood Saw one of these this afternoon in Christine & Michael’s garden. I scared it off before I could get a photo. Lovely, the first I’ve seen although they seem to be common.
Day 5 in @macgenie‘s photo challenge Determination. This is what the painted ladies need to migrate from North Africa to Scotland across multiple generations. Seems to be a big year for butterflies here painted ladies in particular.
