Lovely father’s day walk from Stronachlachar round the west end of Loch Katrine. warm day, but good breeze and not much in the way of hills made for pleasant stroll. lots to see. More photos.

A nice walk yesterday. Lots to see. Highlights, green hairstreak butterfly & a pair of red squirrels chasing through the trees. Stank is a strange word.

I took a walk to Ballagan yesterday. always a fascinating place. Ravens & crows swooping and rushing at each other. Quite a few signs of spring.

Got out yesterday and walked round the Glen Douglas trio of hills again. Map, photos and notes: walkmap

Large Red Damsel Fly Large Red Damsel Fly Black legs are the clue to identify this one.

It has been a few years since I walked to The Whangie, it got to busy for me as lockdown eased. Glad daughter took me today. Lots of flora, a few birds & a nice lizard on the carpark wall. More on Flickr.

Bright blowy day. Ringlet Butterfly or two (saw my first ringlet of year yesterday), a lone swift about the cairn. Lots of common spotted-orchids.

I am John Johnston A Primary Teacher in Scotland. I currently teach primary 4-5-6-7 in Banton Primary, the Banton Biggies. From 1993 until 17th October 2008 a class teacher at Sandaig Primary in Glasgow. In 20th October 2008 I joined North Lanarkshire Council as an Educational ICT Development Officer where I was until 2016. From January 2014 till December 2015 I was on secondment to the Scottish Government to work on Glow as Product Owner mostly on Glow Blogs. I am continuing the role on a part time basis.
