Speckled Wood Saw one of these this afternoon in Christine & Michael’s garden. I scared it off before I could get a photo. Lovely, the first I’ve seen although they seem to be common.

Dabchick on nest, foot of youngster under wind visible

We have been watching a pair of dabchicks in Victoria Park pretty much every day during lockdown. Today we saw the first sign a a hatching, a wee foot coming out from under a parent’s wing.

Morning Fox. I’ve been surprised at the lack for foxes spotted in my 7am lockdown walks. Half an hour earlier this morning. Heard gulls and crows kicking up.
