Cloudy & warm, getting brighter. Butterflies out later.
Very quiet, saw one couple on the way out, a few more coming back. Spider, nest & young.

Started before 8, clouds very low and dark. Saw a couple of jays around the forestry block. Given the lack of visibility I spent a lot of time looking at the ground, sparkling with wild flowers mostly tiny.
By the Time I’d reached the top of Beinn Bhreac the visibility was down to 10–20 meters, luckily the newish fence leads the way to Beinn Reoch, larks and meadow pipets and larks singing. A deer in the gloom near Reoch.
As I went down Reoch the sky began to clear, the cobbler slowly emerged. Saw a wee lizard vanish into some moss. As I went up Tullich Hill the clouds lifted even more, and a bit of breeze got up. Lunch at he pool near the top. A few ravens about, one of which, entertained me lifting and diving on the uplift.

Loch Ard trails. Bright & breezy with some heavy grey cloud. Few butterflies about, whites, orange tips, maybe fritillaries & a common blue. Plenty of damselflies, mostly large reds. A salmon jumped in the Duchray water.
Ardinning morn
Lots of cuckoos calling this morning, caught glimpse of a few. Lots of other birdsong. Warm, sunny the best of the day and still didn’t meet a soul. Sweet Woodruff and bluebells under the trees. It clouded over a bit, but we saw a couple of Small Heath butterflies. A jay.
Kilpatrick – Loch Humphrey: A bright sunny day, little breeze & hardly a cloud.
Hawthorn in full flower. A woodpecker flitting.
Cuckoos calling & couple seen in the distance. Plenty of butterflies.
Trees in leaf, just the ash lagging. Bracken & ferns unfurling.
We has a nice gentle stroll from Dawsholm up the River Kelvin to the vet school and Maryhill Road.
Lovely sunny day, it really feels like summer now. Plenty of butterflies out, orange tips and whites.
Bluebells in the woods along with garlic mustard and wild garlic. Everything green and lush. A few trout rising on the river. Watched a goosander fishing, and saw a heron sunning itself.
Ardinning Early We got there about 7:15 this morning, already 3 cars parked. Didn’t see the occupants. Bluebells & woodruff in the woods. Cuckoos calling, larks and curlew. Still and warm with a bit of a haze. Stonechat, bullfinch. lots of bird song. Dabchicks fishing on the loch.
Ardinning Arrived before 8. Cloudy, a breeze sun occasionally warming. Comfrey, bluebells, bracken unrolling. Mallard ducklings, a dabchick, a woodpecker. Larks & curlews singing & calling. A couple of ravens. Trees greening, fresh beech. One or two cuckoos. Apple blossom.

Lucifer’s Loch. Strange name, named on Google maps, not OS or open street. Had a walk this morning around the back of Jaw & Cochno: map & pics.
