Meadow Brown Butterfly clinging to blade of grass with its wings closed.
School finished for the summer in the pouring rain at 1pm today. By 5 O’clock the sun and a few butterflies were out, including this Meadow Brown. By the Kelvin near the vet school.

Grid of photos 3x3 with a map in the centre. Top Left: Small Heath butterfly; Speedwell, A lot of flowering hawthorn bushes; a beech tree; map; a stonechat; marsh marigold flowers; red kite flying against a very blue sky; a gold finch on a rock.

Walk around Kilpatrick muir this afternoon. Warm sunny, blue skys, lots of butterflies: small heath; green veined whites; orange tips, orange not identified. Red Kite flying above the moor, 1st I’ve seen here.

Had a short walk by Jaw Reservoir, yesterday. Quite a few butterflies about. These posed. A lot of ringlets, a few whites and a red admiral did not oblige.

A nice walk around Ardinning Wildlife reserve on Sunday morn, very quiet. Cuckoos, curlews & other singing & calling.

Lovely sunny day. Had a walk from the Braeval carpark, out towards Calendar, saw my first butterflies of the year, peacocks, quite a few this, one quite ragged. Peacock Butterfly

Cloudy & warm, getting brighter. Butterflies out later.
Very quiet, saw one couple on the way out, a few more coming back. Spider, nest & young.
