Kingfisher Kingfisher
I’ve seen kingfishers on the Kelvin several times over the years, but today we watched this wee guy fishing across the river catching a few wee fish. So beautiful, thrilling.

Had a walk around Ardinning this afternoon, few dragonflies about, photos of Common Darter (pretty sure)

Small Cooper Butterfly, wings closed.
I had a warm short walk around the Kilpatrick braes this afternoon. Quite a few butterflies about including this Small Copper.

Had a short walk by Jaw Reservoir, yesterday. Quite a few butterflies about. These posed. A lot of ringlets, a few whites and a red admiral did not oblige.

Saw this guy at Ardinning this afternoon. Given his/her tail might be regrown I wonder if it the one I saw 3 years ago in the same place.

Wading Heron
Took a wee walk from Dawsholm park to the the vet school. Some Gossanders, a dipper or two and a couple of squawking parakeets in addition to this heron.

A walk up to the Finlas reservoir and beyond this morning. Overcast & low clouds, fine rain. Cuckoos. A couple of hares on the way up, 3 on the way back. A hill fox. Tons of tiny wee wild flowers among the grass. Deer ,ravens, & more flora & fauna: walkmap
