Lovely sunny day. Had a walk from the Braeval carpark, out towards Calendar, saw my first butterflies of the year, peacocks, quite a few this, one quite ragged.
Bonus Coal Tit
Some more photos on flicker, celandine & primroses were out.

Small White or Green Veined White? Seems it is hard to tell from this angle.
Lots of cuckoos calling this morning, caught glimpse of a few. Lots of other birdsong. Warm, sunny the best of the day and still didn’t meet a soul. Sweet Woodruff and bluebells under the trees. It clouded over a bit, but we saw a couple of Small Heath butterflies. A jay.
Speckled Wood Saw one of these this afternoon in Christine & Michael’s garden. I scared it off before I could get a photo. Lovely, the first I’ve seen although they seem to be common.
Had a nice walk along part of the track from Aberfoyle to Calendar. Warm, sunny, still seeing a lot of peacocks. Surprisingly quiet.
Day 5 in @macgenie‘s photo challenge Determination. This is what the painted ladies need to migrate from North Africa to Scotland across multiple generations. Seems to be a big year for butterflies here painted ladies in particular.
