A bit of outdoor learning in the woods near school today. Looking at trees. Pupil identified birch correctly, told me this was due to birch in Minecraft having same pattern on trunk.
I’d heard there was a woodpecker nesting in the park and seen the guys with the huge lens pointing at this dead tree. This evening we head a lot of chirping and saw this wee guy popping its head out. There seems to be more woodpeckers around this year.

But my biggest regret was pilot error, forgetting I’d off loaded my photo library to an external disk I flattened the disk for an emergency backup.

I particularly enjoyed the sentiment of the final poem from Testament with the idea of valuing the in between spaces as well as wild ones. The whole program was delightful.
