Saturday morning poetic links

In Pome today:

At the Aesthetics Meeting

We invented shape after shape,
color moving to and fro;
then outside where the plain world lives
it began to snow.

William Stafford (1962)

Which took me via Wikipedia, to the dimly remembered Traveling through the Dark, some Tai Chi to land on Stone, paper, scissors.

All resonated for different reasons.

Twitter Edits You

Twitter is using its embedded javascript to edit other people‘s sites.

There seems to be a fix: GitHub – markjaquith/stabletweet. I wonder if someone will make a WordPress plug-in?

A quick test to see if ticking the syndicate to mastadon via the Syndication Links plugin works. Like a lot of others I am poking around mastadon again. I think my preference is still POSSE from my own site for social. I didn’t like the way twitter has become the official comms for schools & government before last week.

bluebells

Went for a walk round Ardinning this morning. Lots of birds singing, including the first cuckoo I’ve heard this year. Bluebells starting to appear.

Had a nice walk around some of the Campsies yesterday. Quite a contrast between the flora & fauna of the pipetrack at the start and the bare hills. Map, pictures and notes:

Read: Blank Pages and Other Stories – Bernard MacLaverty ★★★★★ 📚
Quite spare stories, filled with details. Mostly around loss, grief or difficult lives.

Read: My Name Is Lucy Barton – Elizabeth Strout ★★★★☆ 📚
So quiet and understated, the whitespace seems to hold the story.
