Took a walk round Gartnavel after work. End of Term early finish, summer time & a clear sky. Saw a Green Veined White in a Broomhill garden & a peacock in Gartnavel. I’ve seen the odd butterfly flying but these the first close enough to get a good look.
A nice walk along a section of the path from Aberfoyle to Callander and back. Lovely sunny day.

Walk to Loch Humphrey this morning.
Lots of ringlets.
A possible fritillary near the loch
A few whites as we came back.
We had a walk round Loch Ardinning reserve this morning.
Turned out warm, still and clear despite the forecast.
Grass drying from the rain, sparkling.
Fair number of butterflies around, Small Tortoiseshells, Ringlets, some Whites and a lot of Painted Ladies. One or two others I didn’t ID, including a duller red/brown one.
Plenty of blue damselflies and some small red dragonflies.
Saw one wee lizard wriggling away through the grass and one on the wall. The latter looked as if it was regrowing its tail.
Bright with a fair breeze.
Meadowsweet, Thyme Bell heather. First ripe blaeberries.
A day for butterflies:
Ringlet, Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary, Small Heath, Small Copper, Painted Lady, Red Admiral, Green Veined White, Meadow Brown, Peacock Caterpillars
Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell butterflies. First try with my Selfie Stick acquired for just this sort of thing.
