Read: – The Sleepwalkers by Scarlet Thomas ★★★★ 📚
Quite a fevered read. Story told in fragments, notes, voice memos from different p.o.v. The narrators are all unreliable, even the voice memos, mixed up like an automatically generated transcript. Gothic & gruesome.

Afternoon, Kilpatrick Braes. Very hot. Buzzards mewing & raven croaking in blue sky. Quite a lot of peacock butterflies, mostly on downy thistles. A couple of red admiral & fritillaries flying by. A few whites by the road. Heather out, braes purple. At the turn a lizard wriggled off over the grass.
I didn’t go to school yesterday instead I went for a walk along the shore:
Dreaming of lesson prep and classroom supplies.
Read: Havoc by Rebecca Wait ★★★★☆📚
Collapsing girls boarding school, where the buildings and most of the characters are broken. Illness, hysteria & comedy ensue. Mostly through the eyes of the most normal mistress & Ida, new 6th year fleeing from a Scottish islands scandal. I raced through.
Burnt Sugar by Avni Doshi again
Re-Read: Burnt Sugar by Avni Doshi ★★★★☆ I’ve read this 5 years ago, complete forgot even as I read!
Read The Unwilding by Mariana Kemp ★★★★★📚
An excellent artist as monster, but looking at the fallout for other characters more than the monster himself. Two main narrators, the possibility of some unreliability, time & location change make for a captivating read.
Social media is a river. Your post there might get a lot of eyeballs but it’s very quickly lost in the ceaseless flow. In contrast, a blog post like this one is smaller and slower, but more enduring.

Better Search & Replace
I’ve noticed that the old edutalk.cc domain is broken on Radio Edutalk. I had a a couple of hundred or so links on this site to the .cc domain. Just used Better Search Replace – WordPress plugin to change edutalk.cc to edutalk.info which reported:
During the search/replace, 1 tables were searched, with 435 cells changed in 260 updates.
. Seems to have done the trick, I limited the search to the post content. Very much appreciate the plugin authors.
