I wish I had known this before I got excited:-😟
Khürt, I absolutely get a lot of value from my micro.blog account. First of, this is a great community of bloggers, coders, amateur photographers and even one harpist. I’ve found this to be a great continuation of the community I found in app.net, which subsequently splintered into a few groups. ...
micro.blog is an interesting experiment in blog comments.
One of the things about micro.blog I continue to like is it makes me think about blogging in many diverse ways.

The weather was supposed to be rainy, turned out quite breezy, lots of clouds but no rain on me.
Walked a couple of miles or so towards Firpark from Anniesland and back.
Plenty of flowers. Usual moorhens and ducks.
Aaron, That would be wonderful, but I’d guess not good for Apple, or many other tech companies in the short term.
I knee-jerking a response here, I’ve used macs since my first computer in 1995.
Macs have been more sustainable for me than PCs for most folk I know. I don’t get a new one often and they have lasted me a long time.
I dislike the barriers to geekiness that are developing everywhere, both in hardware and, of more import to me, software. It seems harder to play around in an amateur way. Security stops scripts from less professional folk from working. Web APIs move out of reach or are shut down. (I exempt Flickrand OpenSteetMaps). I’d like to see more sustainability there too. Probably not going to.
The latest Openbeta email includes this quote from Czech author Milan Kundera – Everyone without exception bears a potential writer within him, so that the entire human species has good reason to go down into the streets and shout: we are all writers! One morning (and it will be soon), when everyo...
But we do not as yet lament, because we, the people who sit just outside the noisy streams of the walled gardens, know that the Internet is vast and needs more voices. Voices of those not heard till now, voices of those who can bring a fresh perspective. So no, Milan, there is hope as yet, and noise as yet to be made.

Thanks Greg, I presume the walkmaps. I have hope to build different views of these and eventually to bring them into WordPress in someway. What I like about flickr is that its API is easy for amateurs to play with. Amazing resource.
The Gaia theorist, at 100 years old, is infectiously optimistic about the prospect of humanity being overtaken by superintelligent robots
But for Lovelock, the Gaia hypothesis will save us, because the machines will realise that they need organic life to keep the planet at a habitable temperature. (Even electronic life could not survive on an Earth that veered into runaway global warming.)
I read and enjoyed Gaia when it came out, Lovelock still sounds fascinating! I look forward to reading this.
