Stonechat sitting on snowy branch. more snowy branches in background.

I’ve had an unpleasant virus for the past 6 or 7 weeks. So I’ver not been out much apart from going to work. It seems to be departing so I got a first wee walk in ages around a snowy Ardinning. Quite lovely.

Loch Ardinning – British Dragonfly Society

I’ve visited the loch and the The British Dragonfly site many times. Never this page. Quite delighted to see that the header photo is mine. I presumed picked up from Flickr.

Steep wooded cliff, with a waterfall in the centre. Autumn colours. Fringed with orange bracken.

Ballagan Glen From Ardinning. Dark grey coluds, sunlight the hills, olive and orange drom dead bracken. A small tree lined glen with a waterfall just visiable in the middel. Several while buildings shine in the sun at the foot of the glen. A trip of dead, orange braken in the foreground.

montage of 3 dragonflies

Sunny afternoon at Ardinning. These 3 within a metre of each other. I guess the first two could be common darters.

Ardinning Loch. Looking out over a small loch to the other side. Trees on the far bank. Sly of cumulous in sky and reflection.

Windball

Windball

The biggies used their practical skills, communication, working together and a little maths to make a large windball. It was quite tricky to follow the apttern and get the ball into shape, but as you can see the bigges did a great job.
