  1. @johnjohnston I think social media used to be a place where you could have fun and hang out with like minded folks. Which is technically an echo chamber. But I think social media as a place to debate positions and opinions is the problem, not the fact that it’s an echo chamber. I think Bluesky is a chance to reset that and that’s why a lot of folks are excited. Also less Nazis.

    Twitter had great teacher/education chats that were valuable back in the day. Nice communities often organised round tags. But turned out to be built on sand. Not sure what Bluesky is built on? Micro.blog build on the rock of folk paying for hosting (I wish us external bloggers could still throw in a few pebbles for x-posting or something).
