I’m finding that the simpler approach of FSE and the block editor is better. It may have had a bad start, but it has noticeably improved over the last few years. It may never please folks who will only use the “classic” editor. I understand. I’m going to be VERY conscious of those folks as I advocate for the “new” WordPress in the days to come. My hope is to demonstrate why it’s better in coming posts

I am looking forward to seeing these posts pop up in my reader.

  1. @johnjohnston Rush makes a good comparison of WordPress Gutenberg versus Elementor. He admits the Block Editor has a steep learning curve and that’s a problem for the average user. I find the UX disjointed and common tasks obscured, preferring Elementor automation to managing blocks.

  2. @johnjohnston As Gutenberg stalled, managed legacy client sites in Classic mode, used Elementor for new content development and was a good fit. So many builders were active… anything but Divi…

    Mostly I like GeneratePress as a platform base, and do miss the Customizer as it fades out.
