{"id":616,"date":"2006-04-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/?e=616"},"modified":"2015-08-14T05:54:25","modified_gmt":"2015-08-14T05:54:25","slug":"podcasting-workshop-in-falkirk-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/podcasting-workshop-in-falkirk-tomorrow\/","title":{"rendered":"Podcasting workshop in Falkirk tomorrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Podcasting<\/p>\n<p>I am talking about and running a workshop about podcasting at the Scottish Naace <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naace.org\/resource.asp?menuItemId=6&#038;resourceId=1432\">CPD Event: ICT Clicks in 2006<\/a> tomorrow. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/john\/podcasting\/\">My presentation and workshop notes from a previous Naace event<\/a> which I&#8217;ll be pretty much following.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the briefest  overview of how to podcast, from start to finish, the links are the thing.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Record with <a href=\"http:\/\/audacity.sourceforge.net\/\">Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder<\/a> windows, mac and linux versions available.<\/li>\n<li>Add podsafe background music from: <a href=\"https:\/\/magnatune.com\/\">Magnatune: MP3 music and music licensing (royalty free music and license music).<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccmixter.org\/\">CC Mixter<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archive.org\/details\/opensource_audio\">Open Source Audio<\/a> or mix your own online with <a href=\"http:\/\/audiomixer-d.oddcast.com\/php\/ctc\">Audio Mixer<\/a> (looks like fun for children, websense prevents you joining and therefore getting mp3s you create saved in Glasgow schools.)<\/li>\n<li>Export to MP3, Audacity needs the LameLib Windows version from: <a href=\"http:\/\/www-users.york.ac.uk\/~raa110\/audacity\/lame.html\">LAME Mirrors<\/a> Mac version: <a href=\"http:\/\/spaghetticode.org\/lame\/\">Download LameLib for Mac<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Upload to some webspace, if you do not have any you can upload to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archive.org\/\">Internet Archive<\/a>( you need to join first).<\/li>\n<li>List a link to you podcasts in a blog, free educational blogs from <a href=\"http:\/\/edublogs.org\/\">http:\/\/edublogs.org\/<\/a> (for Educators) or <a href=\"http:\/\/learnerblogs.org\/\">http:\/\/learnerblogs.org\/<\/a> (for children and learners).
