{"id":602,"date":"2006-04-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/?e=602"},"modified":"2015-08-14T05:54:25","modified_gmt":"2015-08-14T05:54:25","slug":"web-recording","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/web-recording\/","title":{"rendered":"Web Recording"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> So yesterday I was writing <em> I would be nice to have some sort of comment enhanced podcast<\/em> I forgot about <a href=\"http:\/\/odeo.com\/\" title=\"odeo\">odeo<\/a>, today I found a wee <a href=\"http:\/\/anarchogeek.com\/articles\/2006\/02\/13\/my-odeo-hackathon\">hack<\/a> to do this:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.odeo.com\/send_me_a_message\/JohnJohnston\/embedded\" width=\"375px\" height=\"480px\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" name=\"send_me_a_message\"> <\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So you can send me a message.<\/p>\n<p>I also found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osflash.org\/red5\">Open Source Flash &#8211; red5<\/a> an open source server that cam <em>receive video\/audio\/data from a flash client and either save or rebroadcast that content.<\/em> It is in beta but looks like a much cheaper alternative to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macromedia.com\/software\/flashmediaserver\/\">Flash Media Server<\/a>, and if is easy I might even manage to install it <a href=\"http:\/\/johnjohnston.homedns.org\/\">at home<\/a> as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osflash.org\/red5\">red5<\/a> looks like it might run on a mac. This would provide a way to record on a web page and make something like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bubbleshare.com\/\">BubbleShare<\/a> but would be passed by authority web blocking. I can think of a few wonderful ideas for collaboration between schools if we could customise this sort of stuff. <\/p>\n<p>Anyway it looks like some interesting things could be done here, given a bit of time and knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve added an <a href=\"http:\/\/odeo.com\/\" title=\"odeo\">odeo<\/a> button to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/radio_sandaig\/index.php\">Radio Sandaig<\/a>, hopefully we will get some audio feedback.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ttags\"><b>technorati tags<\/b> <a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/odeo\" rel=\"tag\">odeo<\/a>    <a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/red5\" rel=\"tag\">red5<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/database\" rel=\"tag\">sandaig<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/bubbleshare\" rel=\"tag\">bubbleshare<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/podcasting\" rel=\"tag\">podcasting<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So yesterday I was writing I would be nice to have some sort of comment enhanced podcast I forgot about odeo, today I found a wee hack to do this: So you can send me a message.
