As usual this year I was wrong forgetting how  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/gallery\/christmas_05\">busy<\/a> Christmas is. I&#8217;ve hardlt had time to post here at all.<\/p>\n<p>The December <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/radio_sandaig\/index.php\">Radio Sandaig<\/a> podcast is out at last. Lot of trouble with this one and I ended up doing most of the editing myself. Audacity managed to lose all the children&#8217;s edits. <\/p>\n<p>After enquiring on the <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.yahoo.com\/group\/Podcasting-Education\/\">Podcasting-Education<\/a> mail list and searching the <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.sourceforge.net\/lists\/listinfo\/audacity-users\"> audacity-users<\/a> list it seems that Audacity can have problems with losing data if you move the original files.<\/p>\n<p>This seems related to the file format preferences, and how Audacity  imports:<\/p>\n<p>Make a copy before editing(safer)<\/p>\n<p>Read Directly from the original file (Faster)<\/p>\n<p>The second, which is AFAIK the default, is what I use and seems to be  a problem.<\/p>\n<p>The solution seems to be to use the safer import and save a wav file at the end of each editing sessions as a backup.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway the December podcast doesn&#8217;t even have background music due to lack to time and having to redo the whole thing.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Rendering error: could not display image 'comiclife.jpg'. File does not exist --><\/p>\n<p>An other interesting ict activity we did was a little experimenting with <a href=\"http:\/\/plasq.com\/comiclife\/\">Comic Life<\/a>. This is a wonderful app to quickly create comics, I&#8217;ve read a lot about it on the web recently, but just got round to trying it out.<\/p>\n<p>Emma B in primary seven produced this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/pivot\/pivot\/entry.php?id=490\" title=\"Permanent link to entry 'Radio Sandaig: boys vs girls'\">comic<\/a> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/radio_sandaig\/index.php\">Radio Sandaig<\/a> Christmas Boys Vs Girls competition for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/pivot\/index.php\">Sandaig Otters<\/a> blog. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I always think that the end of term will allow me to squeeze in some extra ict lessons and activities.
