On Computing Education – The Windows Movie Maker Problem<\/h3>\n
Scottish, 14 year old pupil, Ross Penman<\/a> gives his view on the state of computing education:<\/p>\n
But what shocked me was the techniques being taught to create the web pages.<\/p>\n
<font><\/code>,<big><\/code>, and<small><\/code>*<\/a> tags, thealign<\/code>,border<\/code>, andbgcolor<\/code> attributes, jump links using<a name=\"\"><\/code>, embedding Windows directory paths in links to images, and, worst of all, the dreaded tables for layout<\/strong>.<\/p>\nWe thought all of these techniques died out in 2001, but they are still<\/strong> being taught!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
