It is now available on WordPress.org so easy to install. It pulls in news from a set of blogs on a Feedland server. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A river of news is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-small-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>River of News<\/em>\u00a0is a kind of RSS aggregator.<a href=\"http:\/\/scripting.com\/2014\/06\/02\/whatIsARiverOfNewsAggregator.html#aIONIA\">#<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a><\/a>Items are presented in reverse-chronologic order.<a href=\"http:\/\/scripting.com\/2014\/06\/02\/whatIsARiverOfNewsAggregator.html#aIAPIR\">#<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each item has a headline, short description, a link to the story, links to the website and feed it came from, a link to its enclosure if it has one, when it was published, when it appeared in the river.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/scripting.com\/2014\/06\/02\/whatIsARiverOfNewsAggregator.html#aEIHAH\">#<\/a> <\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"http:\/\/scripting.com\/2014\/06\/02\/whatIsARiverOfNewsAggregator.html\">What is a River of News aggregator?<\/a><br><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-small-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FeedLand is a web service for managing lists of feeds, sharing them with other users, both in and outside of FeedLand, and reading and sharing news.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal of FeedLand is to make news a social thing, following the pattern of social media apps, but using open formats and protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So FeedLand is feeds, news and people and software that connects it all together.<\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.feedland.com\/gettingstarted.md\">FeedLand: Getting started with FeedLand<\/a> <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feedland was created by <a href=\"http:\/\/scripting.com\">Dave Winer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve a new page: River of News an rss reader for some of my favourite feeds.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been testing Scott Hanson&#8217;s plugin that pulls in a River of News from Feedland River Embed for FeedLand, for a while.
