{"id":2065,"date":"2009-06-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/?e=2065"},"modified":"2009-06-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","slug":"smart-pop-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/smart-pop-art\/","title":{"rendered":"Smart Pop Art"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Back in the day, I enjoyed getting children to create pop art style pictures with <a href=\"http:\/\/get.adobe.com\/flashplayer\/\" title=\"Adobe - Adobe Flash Player\">Flash<\/a> a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/classes\/primary_six_03_04\/look_at_us.php\" title=\"Look at Us!\">2004 example<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\" style=\"text-align:center\"><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"https:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0\" width=\"440\" height=\"325\" id=\"Allfaces4\" align=\"middle\"><param name=\"allowScriptAccess\" value=\"sameDomain\" \/><param name=\"movie\" value=\"https:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/classes\/primary_six_03_04\/images\/Allfaces4.swf\" \/><param name=\"quality\" value=\"high\" \/><param name=\"bgcolor\" value=\"#ffffff\" \/><\/object> <\/p>\n<p>The children brought in photos as guide layers and traced them. Flash is rather a complex app for children, but we managed to have a fair bit of fun with it over the years. I&#8217;ve a set of instructions <a href=\"http:\/\/www.littlefishsw.co.uk\/flash\/worksheets\/cartoon_face.pdf\">Cartoon your face with flash<\/a> in pdf format for flash 5 (or maybe mx?) produced a while back.<\/p>\n<p>Recently I&#8217;ve discovered an easier way to achieve the same thing, I&#8217;ve been out in a couple of classrooms team teaching using the smartboard, and this is a nice way to get children drawing on the board:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Get a photo onto the board<\/strong><br  \/>This can be done pretty quickly with Photo Booth on a mac, just drag a picture onto smart notebook:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/images\/2009-06\/2009-06-11_drag_smart_pb.jpg\" alt=\"Drag_smart_pb\" height=\"300\" width=\"400\"  ><\/p>\n<p>Or you could take photos with a digital camera and import them, or use a webcam or get a photo of someone famous from the web etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Trace the photo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/images\/2009-06\/2009-06-11_trace.png\" alt=\"Trace\" height=\"314\" width=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>3.
