{"id":1442,"date":"2007-07-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/?e=1442"},"modified":"2015-08-14T05:50:49","modified_gmt":"2015-08-14T05:50:49","slug":"the-start-of-the-holidays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/the-start-of-the-holidays\/","title":{"rendered":"The Start of the holidays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/troutcolor\/661869680\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1384\/661869680_775feadc5d_t.jpg\" width=\"100\" height=\"75\" alt=\"End of School Year\"  style=\"padding:2px;border:solid 1px #eee;margin:3px;float:right\"\/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Straight from school on friday to the pub, for a bit to eat, a few Guinness and to talk a fair bit of nonsense.<br  \/>Steam was let off the world put to rights and a few farewells said.<br  \/>The way staffing in schools goes at the moment you spend a lot of time saying goodbye.<\/p>\n<p>The next day I got down playing with <a href=\"http:\/\/phpflickr.com\/\">phpFlickr<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taichicaledonia.com\/images\/gallery\/calyflickr07\/\">here<\/a>, increasing my admiration for both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/\">flickr<\/a>&#8216;s api and <a href=\"http:\/\/phpflickr.com\/\">phpFlickr<\/a>. It is a great pity that flickr is not available in many schools (it is worth repeating this frequently I think).<br  \/>I finally bit the bullet and bought a pro account on flickr, nice seeing the old photos reappear safe and sound and the badge on my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.littlefishsw.co.uk\/log\/index.php\">other blog<\/a> is refilled.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/troutcolor\/683432727\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1337\/683432727_4d75598de7_t.jpg\" width=\"100\" height=\"67\" alt=\"Progress\" style=\"padding:2px;border:solid 1px #eee;margin:3px;float:left\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Due to rain, I&#8217;ve spent a bit of time today tidying my desk at home and planning the geeky bit of my holidays.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks ago Carol Fuller (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandaigprimary.co.uk\/pivot\/dream_dragon.php\">Sandaig&#8217;s fairy blogmother<\/a>) invited me onto <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/\">facebook<\/a>, which  I hope to explore and blog about. Through it I&#8217;ve discovered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mojungle.com\/browseUser.php?guid=876DF1B7-BB8B-573D-CD27-6A3D4D40FAEB\">mojungle<\/a> a mobloging sort of application which seems nice. I&#8217;ve also found that flickr is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnjohnston.name\/mo\/pivot\/entry.php?id=83\">getting on better with my phone<\/a> so I hope to try some moblogging experiments perhaps combined with the aforementioned <a href=\"http:\/\/phpflickr.com\/\">phpFlickr<\/a>. I&#8217;ve embedded my flickr tagged moblog and mojungle on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnjohnston.name\/mo\/index.php\">my moblog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t use the third glow pilot as much as I did the second, but I need to blog a bit about glow I think.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.littlefishsw.co.uk\/log\/images\/sc45icon.jpg\" style=\"padding:2px;border:solid 1px #eee;margin:3px;float:left\"><\/p>\n<p>I am also going to spend a bit of time with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.supercard.us\/\">SuperCard<\/a> and update some of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.littlefishsw.co.uk\/card\/downloads.html\">my projects.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Other than that I hope to get down to the beach, climb a few wee hills and resurrect my tai chi practise all once the rain stops.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Straight from school on friday to the pub, for a bit to eat, a few Guinness and to talk a fair bit of nonsense.Steam was let off the world put to rights and a few farewells said.The way staffing in schools goes at the moment you spend a lot of time saying goodbye.
