{"id":1071,"date":"2006-12-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/?e=1071"},"modified":"2006-12-05T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","slug":"glow-and-sharepoint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/johnjohnston.info\/blog\/glow-and-sharepoint\/","title":{"rendered":"Glow and sharepoint"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> After watching the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glowscotland.org.uk\/about\/glowthemovie\/index.asp\">video<\/a>, reading quite a few blog posts, especially Bob&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/robthill.wordpress.com\/2006\/11\/20\/sharepoint\/\" title=\"Permanent Link to Sharepoint\">Sharepoint<\/a> explanation I&#8217;ve having a quick look or three at the portal.<\/p>\n<p>Somewhat limited by the Monday to Thursday school only access, I&#8217;ve still not got to grips with it.<\/p>\n<p>There has been some interesting discussion  on <a href=\"http:\/\/edu.blogs.com\/edublogs\/2006\/12\/euan_semple_lay.html\">Ewan&#8217;s<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnconnell.co.uk\/blog\/?p=224\" title=\"Permanent Link: Sharepoint and Glow\">John&#8217;s<\/a> blogs.<\/p>\n<p>Kind of boils down to: &#8216;do we need glow if we have Web 2.0?&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnconnell.co.uk\/blog\">John<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/edu.blogs.com\/\">Ewan<\/a> seem to be saying we need both (and a pile of other stuff too).<\/p>\n<p>I am sure they are right (both posts are well worth reading more than once).<\/p>\n<p>The only thing I can really say is that glow feels different than most of the web 2 stuff I&#8217;ve <i>played<\/i> with over the last few years. Glow doesn&#8217;t feel <i>playful<\/i>. I think I might need a manual. I&#8217;ve picked up a dozen blogging systems, a handful of wikis, flickr, del.ico.us etc and never felt lost.
